View previous Post :: View next Post   Author Joker=RS= BHD Squad Leader Joined: Dec 18, 2006 Posts: 1961 Location: England Currently: Offline Message Posted: Wed Feb 18, 2009 8:39 am    Post subject: Re: ping probs  This  is  normal  for  the  Be*  network  when  doing  a  traceroute  -  You  may  also  sometimes  see  the  bebox  exhibit  the  high  ping  responses  too  when  tracerouting.      This  only  affects  a  traceroute  and  does  not  affect  any  further  pings  in  the  trace  route  or  download  rate  through  that  hop.      Performing  a  normal  ping  to  the  hop  will  result  in  normal  ping  responses.      This  is  due  to  a  configuration  telling  the  routing  equipment  on  that  hop  to  respond  to  traceroute  pings  as  low  priority  so  it  can  perform  its  more  critical  routing  functions.    Morc   Please  login  to  see  this  link Get  registered  or  Log  in
